A win that was needed.

I mentioned in my game prediction for this game that it would be a tough case for Mack Brown to make to the Longhorn faithful that progress is being made if you lost to a team that you blew out the previous year. Well Mack Brown has made the case by beating the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock, Texas. This was a win that Mack Brown needed to keep his job.

The defense finally woke up today

I guess when Mack Brown decided to put this time and effort into working with this defense, it finally made an impact. Manny Diaz looked lost in the first eight games of the season, but Mack Brown finally provided some stability to this defense. The defense didn’t give up the big play, we’re better at tackling, and made some really good plays on third down. Carrington Byndum finally became the shutdown corner that he was last year. Multiple pass breakups and the biggest play being the blocked field goal with 5:15 left in the game.
