It’s time for Texas High School Football Playoffs. The 2013 Texas Longhorns football recruiting class is almost complete but for some of the recruits, their high school football careers aren’t over yet. Here is a quick rundown of the 2013 Texas Longhorns football recruits still playing in Texas High School Football Players.
Naashon Hughes and Darius James
Linebacker Naashon Hughes and Offensive Lineman Darius James will try to turn around a disappointing 4-6 season by taking out undefeated Desoto High School at Waco ISD Stadium on Saturday.
Erik Huhn and the Cibolo Steele Knights are 10-0 and will face off against Marshall (San Antonio) High School at the Alamodome tonight. Marshall went 5-5 this year and shouldn’t be too much trouble for the Knights.
Kyle Hicks and the Martin Warriors will play perennial power Southlake Carroll at Cowboys Stadium on Friday at 6:00pm. Southlake Carroll is 9-1 and Arlington Martin is 7-3. Kyle Hicks stated earlier in the year that he wants to win a state championship (video below) and it’s going to be a tough first test in the playoffs.
Dallas Jesuit will play McKinney Boyd on Friday at Plano’s Clark Stadium. Jake Oliver has already set the Texas High School Career Receptions record so this will be icing on the cake if he is able to bring Dallas Jesuit a state championship.
Kent Perkins and Lake Highlands will play Plano West in Coppell, Texas on Friday. Lake Highlands went 8-2 on the year and will be looking to make some noise in the 5A Division 2 playoffs.
Celina Bobcats are 8-2 and will play Krum High School tonight at Denton’s Collins Complex. Jake has played a key role in the Bobcats’ season and we will see if this season can continue on.
Jacorey Warrick and the Cypress Falls Eagles will play Alief Elsik at Pridgeon Stadium on Friday. Jacorey has played a huge role in the Eagles season and I believe they will go far in the tournament.
