Myck Kabongo Allowed To Travel To Hawaii

Texas Longhorns basketball

Mar 16, 2012; Nashville, TN, USA; Texas Longhorns guard Myck Kabongo (12) drives to the basket against the Cincinnati Bearcats during the first half in the second round of the 2012 NCAA men

University Of Texas athletic department released a statement Friday morning that said that Myck Kabongo will be traveling with the team to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational. Here is the complete release:

“Texas sophomore guard Myck Kabongo has been allowed to travel to Maui with the team (team departs this morning). We do NOT have any update from the NCAA on his eligibility status at this time.”

My Take:

This is good news for Texas Longhorns fans everywhere. Javan Felix is good and has skills but he can’t play a full 40 minute game. If Texas is going to do anything in Maui, Myck has to play at least on Tuesday.
