The game is over and it is time for the Hook’em Headlines Game Breakdown where we breakdown the game and what we liked and didn’t like from the 20-13 loss to TCU.

The defense made adjustments

After an embarrassing 94 yard first drive for the defense, the Longhorns defense shut down the TCU offense to only 210 yards and didn’t give up another long touchdown drive. Credit the defense for shutting down TCU and not letting the first drive bring them down.

David Ash needs to be more consistent.

You can understand why a true sophomore could struggle against OU in the Cotton Bowl. It might be hard to get up for a game in Lawrence, Kansas in an half empty stadium. But this game was at home on Thanksgiving against a team with less talent than Texas and was beaten. 3 turnovers in the first half and was shut down in the second half. Now the word is David Ash injured his ribs and many fear in the program that its going to keep him out of the Kansas State game. You have to wonder if he will ever be ready to take Texas to the next step.

Case Football??

Sure doesn’t have the same ring to it but Case McCoy is a gamer and credit him for the second to last drive to get the game within a touchdown.

Real Talk

Okay, Bryan Harsin. Take a seat over here. It’s time to free DJ Monroe, Marquis Goodwin and Daje Johnson. The runs up the middle are not working and you need to mix in some outside runs or good defensive teams will beat you every time. You did many outside runs during the non conference schedule and now you call them maybe 3 or 4 times a game. It’s time to use the playmakers you have and get them the ball.
