Flanagan's Thoughts From The Texas Longhorns Win Over North Carolina

– In a season defining win for the Longhorns, they came out and set the tone early and took it to the North Carolina Tar Heels.

– Turnovers were the difference in the game. 18 turnovers for the North Carolina Tar Heels, 10 in the first half.

– When North Carolina came out of the locker room in the second half, I knew they would come out strong and they started the second half on a 9-2 run. But Texas held them at bay and the Tar Heels never got a lead and never got it within 1 possession. That’s an accomplishment.

– During the ESPN broadcast, it was mentioned that Yahoo! Sports broke the story that Myck Kabongo will not be eligible for the season. Now as heartbreaking of a story that is, this was the most complete game I have seen from the Longhorns. Did the Longhorns look shaky at times? Yes, but they didn’t lose it like they did against the UCLA Bruins. They took care of business and got a resume win on the season. North Carolina is still North Carolina and that victory is going to pop off the paper, but will it be enough to make the selection committee forget Chaminade? I don’t know yet.
