Flanagan’s Thoughts On Texas Longhorns Defeat To Kansas

- A loss is a loss is a loss. Eventually you have to hang onto these leads and win the game. You don’t play to lose close. As Herm Edwards said:

UCLA was tough, West Virginia was an embarassment, this was a season changing win that Texas let slip through it’s fingers.

- I love Javan Felix, I think he will be a great point guard. But it seems when Texas needs a play, he somehow fumbles the game away and he did it again. Ice does not run through his veins.

- Defense in the first half was spectacular but no offensive identity hurt the Longhorns again as they only scored 59 points. I do believe Myck Kabongo would of helped this team offensively but how much? This team has little experience and very raw talent.

- Even though I get the sense that Texas Longhorns fans have checked out from this season, they are still very frustrated in this season and the freefall of this program since being ranked #1 in January 2010 is obvious. Here is a stat Rick Barnes critics will love.

In the last 5 seasons, Rick Barnes and the Texas Longhorns are 5-15 in conference games decided by 5 points or fewer. That isn’t getting it done.
