On Wednesday, the Texas Longhorns added their 15th commitment of the 2013 class. Offensive Guard Rami Hammad (Irving (TX) High School) committed to Texas after decommitting from Baylor on Sunday. He is listed as a 4 star on Rivals and on 247 Sports. Rami originally committed to Oklahoma State in June and then committed to Baylor in November.
Here is his highlight film from Texas Preps:
My Take: That would be the 4th offensive lineman in this class. It’s obviously that the Texas Longhorns coaching staff want to bring in more depth on the offensive line. Not surprising but what is shocking is the type of lineman they are going after. They are going after mammoth offensive lineman. This will help create that push needed to create holes in the running game. A strong running game is what Mack Brown strives for and should be a goal of this team, the problem is the initial push is never enough to get Jonathan Gray or Joe Bergeron into the second level and hit big runs against very good defenses. You can never have enough good lineman on the roster.
