Texas Longhorns backup quarterback Connor Brewer was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of public intoxication and minor in possession. Connor was arrested by the University of Texas Police department and was taken to Travis County jail and booked at 2:49am according to Mike Finger. No charges have been filed against Connor Brewer and he has been released from Travis County Jail.
Here is a statement from Mack Brown regarding the Connor Brewer situation:
“We’re aware of Connor’s situation and are disappointed anytime one of our players is accused of wrongdoing. We’ve talked with his family and will continue to monitor the situation. Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what’s best for The University, Connor and the team. We’ve always prided ourselves in our program’s family atmosphere, and this will be handled within our family.”
I do find it odd that Mack Brown has not commented on the Major Applewhite situation but this has been a rough 14 hours for Longhorn fans.
