The Texas Longhorns signed their 8th recruit of the day with the signing of Kent Perkins. He announced his decision at Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, Texas.

Kent Perkins committed to the Texas Longhorns on February 27th, 2012. In interviews with multiple media outlets that he wanted a quick end to his recruitment and he stick with that timetable.  In the fall of 2011, he did name 3 favorites in an interview with Orangebloods.com

“I have a whole bunch of offers but the main ones I’m focusing on are Texas, (Texas) A&M and Baylor,” he said. “I visited all three of those places this summer. They were all great. I haven’t had a chance to go to any games just yet though.”

Kent Perkins is one of 4 offensive lineman that the Texas Longhorns anticipate signing today. All 5 starters on the offensive line are returning but while I don’t expect many of these commitments to play this fall, they do add some much needed depth along the offensive line.

The Texas Longhorns are anticipating the signatures of 11 men today to go along with 15 total signees for the 2012 Football Recruiting Class.
