In the final game before Myck Kabongo’s suspension will expire, the Longhorns had one of their worst shooting night of the season, and that is tough to do considering how bad this team has been all year.
The Texas Longhorns shot 1 for 18 from beyond the 3 point line. 1 for 18. That’s 5.6% from beyond the 3 point line. To make matters worse, they couldn’t even hit their free throws. The Longhorns were 57% from the free throw line which included going 1 for 6 in the first half. Ioannis Papapetrou lead all Longhorns with 15 points against Oklahoma State but Rick Barnes likes to send messages to the team’s best players that aren’t getting through. Sheldon McClellan played only 20 minutes and Cameron Ridley played just 12 minutes and got 0 points. I sometimes get the feeling that Rick Barnes just wants to burn this entire season down to the ground.
Not to mention that the 2nd ranked basketball recruit, Julius Randle from Plano, Texas, was on his final official visit before making a decision between Texas, Florida, Kansas, NC State and Kentucky. Not the best showing to have when you are trying to convince an in state recruit that Texas is the best place for him.
Overall, a very depressing game for Longhorns fans. But if Julius Randle does commit to Texas, that would be the best news this Longhorns basketball team had in months.
