Offensive Tackle Josh Cochran is out for the rest of spring practice. Cochran is listed as the starter at right tackle on the depth chart on Mackbrown-texasfootball.com. Here is the release from the University of Texas Sport Information Department:

OT Josh Cochran sustained a fracture of his lower left leg at Wednesday’s practice and will be out for the spring season, Texas Head Athletic Trainer for Football Kenny Boyd said. Boyd said there is no timetable on Cochran’s return, though he added that the Longhorn starter is expected to be fully recovered in time to return for preseason drills in August.

My Take:

This is a loss for the rest of spring practices. But this injury might help build depth on the offensive line. Sedrick Flowers has been showing great promise as a redshirt freshmen so I expect him as a sophomore to be more versatile and work out at guard and at tackle. Kennedy Estelle is coming off of a redshirt year and might be expected to contribute. But make no mistake about it, Josh Cochran is the starter.
