Don’t call it a comeback but Vince Young is going to workout for NFL scouts on Texas’s Pro Day on March according to Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated. Here is Stewart Mandel’s tweet:
Vince Young, back on campus this semester finishing his degree, will work out at Texas’ pro day, according to Mack Brown.

Now some in the media are not happy that Vince Young is getting another chance to workout in front of NFL teams. Mac Engel of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram had to insult the amount of credits that Vince Young has attained (which he doesn’t know) and Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk made a tongue-in-cheek comment about Vince Young’s financial decisions.
I guess when you can insult someone’s ability on the field, you have to make fun of their decisions off the field. Not only was Vince Young a stellar collegiate quarterback, but was a decent NFL quarterback. Vince Young was 31-19 as a starter in the NFL. In his final 2 years as a starter in 2009 and 2010, he had the 2nd and 4th best QBR ratings in the league respectively.
Vince Young is a polarizing athlete for some reason, and NFL teams are much more willing to take a risk on a younger quarterback than one who is 29 years old. All Young needs is 1 team to take one more chance on him and I believe he will get that chance.
