Each Monday, Hook’em Headlines will give quick recruiting updates surrounding the Texas Longhorns in “The Stampede.”

–  Plano (TX) Forward Julius Randle, the number 2 basketball recruit in the 2013 class according to, will make his decision on Wednesday March 20th. This is a must win recruiting battle for the Texas Longhorns. This is the only one out of the top 5 players in the state of Texas that has shown sincere interest in the Texas Longhorns. He is a quiet kid and people around Kansas, Kentucky, and Texas have felt confident that they will get Randle. Rick Barnes is known for good recruiting but the odds are stacked against him on this one. (Chris Flanagan)

– HornsNation reported on Thursday that Louisiana Safety Mattrell McGraw is looking to visit Texas:

Mattrell McGraw has offers from Alabama, Texas Tech, Michigan State, and Oregon to name a few. He doesn’t have an offer from Texas as of yet but we will see if on his visit that he gets that elusive offer. (Chris Flanagan)

– William Wilkerson tweeted out this on Thursday about Hebron (TX) defensive back Jamal Adams

This was offer number 23 for Jamal Adams. Some still believe that he is a Longhorns lead and I have no reason to doubt that. He has spoke very highly of the Longhorns and I expect him to sign with the Longhorns next February. (Chris Flanagan)

– Max Olsen tweeted this out on Thursday:

What was strange about that tweet was a couple hours earlier, Demetrius Knox tweeted this:

Obviously in the game of recruiting, you need to keep your options open. Demetrius Knox will visit Ohio State but I would be too concerned. (Chris Flanagan)
