Demarcus Croaker Commits To The Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns got a huge basketball commitment from Orlando (FL) guard DeMarcus Croaker. He is a 6’3″ guard who can create his own shot and made some ridiculous dunks. Highlight tape is below:

My Take:

Even if the Longhorns do not get Julius Randle, getting this commitment is huge for Texas. If Myck Kabongo leaves for the NBA, the guard depth at Texas will be thin. Demarcus Croaker will add depth to the Longhorns’ guard lineup and should compete for playing time with Sheldon McClellan and Julien Lewis. This shouldn’t hurt the standing of Kendal Yancy-Harris in becoming a Longhorn. There are 3 scholarships available as of now and both are to guards and with Jaylen Bond transferring, Texas would like to use that scholarship on a forward like Julius Randle but this late in the recruiting process, you need to take the most talented basketball players you can find.
