2014 Football Recruiting: Demetrius Knox Decommits From Texas

Recruiting for the Texas Longhorns has taken a big hit today as one of the top commitments in the 2014 Texas Longhorns recruiting class has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns. Demetrius Knox has always been an enigma for the Texas Longhorns. Originally from Dayton, Ohio; Knox always had an admiration for the Ohio State Buckeyes but committed to the Texas Longhorns early. He and his high school teammate Daniel Gresham went to visit Alabama and Ohio State while both were committed to the Texas Longhorns. Mack Brown stated that he had a “no-visit” policy for committed recruits yet these two were allowed to visit other schools. Talk about a double standard. And now, Demetrius Knox has decommitted and lists UCLA, Ohio State and Miami as his top 3.

Don’t be fooled by his Top 3. Demetrius Knox will be a Buckeye. Urban Meyer is dominating Mack Brown for the top Texas recruits right now. Mack Brown has made nice additions to the player personnel staff but it’s time to get to work.
