With the 16th pick in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills selected Marquise Goodwin. He is the 78th overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft. According to Buffalo Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone, they were looking for a playmaker and they got that with Marquise:

“When I look at offense, I try to look at playmakers; people that can make plays, people that can be productive,” explained Marrone. “The whole thing in this league is how are you going to score?”

He went onto to add:

“Well I think it is interesting that the first thing that comes to mind is speed,” Marrone said of Goodwin’s skill set. “And that is the one thing, and you hear this a lot from coaches, but it is the one thing you cannot coach. You are either fast or you are not fast.”

My Take:

I don’t believe the Bills are the best place for Marquise right now. Speed can be affected by the cold weather. In Austin, the coldest average high happens in January and the average is 62. The average high in December in Buffalo is 36 degrees F and it’s been know to get as low as -20 degrees. It’s just not the best place for speed. Jacksonville, Miami or a team in a dome would have been an ideal situation for Marquise.
