The big talk after the 41-13 trashing of Pittsburgh, Florida State QB apparently told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy that he wanted to go to Texas. Here is Brett McMurphy’s tweets:

I’m not the biggest fan of Mack Brown. However, this isn’t on Mack Brown. Everyone is looking to bring down Mack Brown and this is just another attack on him for recruiting Garrett Gilbert over RG3 and Andrew Luck. In America, the only thing we love more than a comeback story is knocking someone off of their pedestal. Mack Brown had so much success from 1998-2009 that when he failed, people want to attack him. Reports from websites that cover the Texas Longhorns exclusively state that Jameis Winston wasn’t interested in the Longhorns, just wanted to validate his ability as a college football recruit. At the time he reached out to the Longhorns, he was already committed to FSU. Here are some tweets from reporters who follow the Texas program:

I get it, it’s something to talk about for the sports media because they need something to talk about 24/7. Let me be clear, Jameis Winston was never coming to Texas. His actions speak louder than his words.
