Texas, Charlie Strong Agree to Five-Year, $25 Million Contract

News continues to pour in regarding Charlie Strong’s move to Austin.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel, Texas has agreed to pay Strong $5 million a year for five seasons. This places Strong among the very highest paid coaches in college football with only Alabama’s Nick Saban and Arkansas’ Bret Bielema earning more annually.

In his four years at Louisville, Strong led the Cardinals to a 37-15 record including a 3-1 record in bowl games. Strong previously served as Florida’s defensive coordinator under Urban Meyer, winning two national championships with the Gators.
