It’s early, I know. Charlie Strong has just been hired. The team hasn’t had a practice yet, and the spring game is still months away.

That doesn’t mean we can’t speculate on what kind of product Strong will put on the field come August 30. We now know Malcolm Brown, Cedric Reed and Qundre Diggs will return for their senior seasons. The quarterback position received a boost with reports David Ash is anxious to return for spring practices.

On the flip side, Texas has been losing top recruits on defense. It’s unclear right now what recruits Strong will target. He may very well be coaching a roster that generated eight wins in 2013 under Mack Brown.
