Texas Recruiting: Elijah Rodriguez flips to Texas

The Texas Longhorns received some good news less than 48 hours from National Signing Day when three-star OL Elijah Rodriguez committed to the Longhorns.

Rodriguez had been a Colorado commit up until recently. Apparently he enjoyed the UT campus so much during his official visit over the weekend that he confirmed with Olson he was coming to Texas.

The Cypress Creek (Houston) product is 6’6” and 280 pounds. He is the type of lineman Joe Wickline likes – tall, physical and moves well for a player his size. By redshirting in 2014, Rodriguez will be able to add some bulk to his frame and be ready to contribute in 2015 and possibly start in 2016.

Besides Colorado and Texas, Rodriguez had offers from LSU, Florida State and Arizona State.
