Texas Basketball: Jonathan Holmes to be reevaluated Tuesday

Texas junior forward Jonathan Holmes will have his right knee reevaluated Tuesday to determine when the Longhorns’ leading scorer can get back on the court.

Holmes injured his knee early in the first half Saturday against Kansas State and did not return. He walked off the court under his own power.

Head coach Rick Barnes addressed Holmes’ injury and the when Texas will make a decision on the forward’s playing status.

“We’re going to wait until tomorrow to see how he progresses today and whether or not he plays tomorrow we’ll decide probably tomorrow sometime. He’s still going to through the treatment with Eric (trainer Eric Fry) and had seen the doctors and will be more of a game-time decision.”

Holmes leads the Longhorns in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game. He is second on the team in rebounds, collecting 7.4 rebounds a game.

Texas hosts Oklahoma State Tuesday at 6:00 PM CT.
