The roads woes for the Texas Longhorns basketball team continued Saturday. Isaiah Cousins and Buddy Hield made sure of that.
The Oklahoma guards combined for 41 points to lead the Sooners past Texas 77-65. The win gives the Sooners the season series sweep and moves Oklahoma (21-8, 10-6 Big 12) into a third place tie with Texas pending the Iowa State-Kansas State outcome.
Texas (21-8, 10-6 Big 12) dropped its fourth straight Big 12 road game. The Longhorns last won a road contest Feb. 4 against TCU. Turnovers hurt the visitors. Texas committed 16 to Oklahoma’s seven.
Hield made four 3-pointers and Cousins converted 8-9 free throws for the Sooners. Oklahoma was 10-25 on 3-point shots while Texas converted just three 3-pointers (3-19).
Cameron Ridley led Texas with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Jonathan Holmes added 11 points. Javan Felix was held to two points, nearly 11 points below his season average, on 1-5 shooting.
The Longhorns return home to face TCU on March 5. Oklahoma will host West Virginia.
