Several Texas Longhorns made key contributions in yesterday’s Red River Showdown win over Oklahoma.

Texas Longhorns fans are still relishing in Saturday’s victory over Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown. The Longhorns put together its best game of the season against one of its hated rivals.

The win comes after a tough week for Charlie Strong and the coaching staff. There was the fallout from the TCU game, a 50-7 dismantling. Kris Boyd’s social media snafu caused a major uproar and had critics questioning whether Strong had lost the locker room.

There were upperclassmen calling out the younger players for not spending enough time in the film room. This caused several freshmen to fire back, exasperating a situation that seemed to have the team coming apart at the seams. All of this as the Red River Showdown with No. 10 Oklahoma loomed. The Longhorns came into the game as 16 point underdogs.

As improbable of a win as this was, there were numerous Longhorns who came to play Saturday. The team rallied around Strong and played with an intensity we have not seen this year.

Here are some of those players who stepped up their game to help Texas pull off the upset.
