The meaning of the most hated Oklahoma Sooners players for Texas football fans could be open to interpretation, but four or five cannot be argued.

In recent years, the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas football came back to the forefront of competing for the Big 12 Championship under two new coaching regimes. Texas football challenged Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown, even during the down years at the back end of Mack Brown’s tenure and throughout the three years under former head coach Charlie Strong.

Third-year head Texas football coach Tom Herman beat Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley in the Red River Showdown at the Cotton Bowl during the 2018 regular season. But Oklahoma got the best of Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game on the road to yet another conference title for them and a berth in the College Football Playoff.

However, the overall record in Red River for Texas still sits in their favor at 62-47-5. Although, Oklahoma won three of the last four meetings in this rivalry. None really came by a big margin of victory, though. This rivalry game always seems to be close no matter the shape of each team coming into Red River.

The thought of Oklahoma and Texas getting to face each other twice in one season again come the fall is mind blowing. The instillation of the Big 12 Championship Game is a really good thing when these Red River rivals get to play twice in the span of three months.

What will this year hold between these two hated rivals? Before then, I’m taking a look back at the most hated players across the board for Oklahoma previous to the 2019 season for Texas football fans.

Here’s a look into the 10 most hated rival Oklahoma Sooners players for fans of the Texas Longhorns football program.
