(2) Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones assumed a leadership role after Tevin Mack was suspended and eventually released from the team. Now it’s time to be epic in the Big 12 Tournament.

Allen and Jones have clearly been the leaders of this freshman class. But, the overall team has not gelled under their leadership. Jones, like sophomore guard Kerwin Roach, is not a true PG. And, he has struggled at times to know when to attack and when to involve teammates.

All of that is in the past now. Andrew Jones has to attack, attack, attack using his great basketball skills, which will draw in defenders. This will set up perimeter players for open shots and post players for easy looks at the rim.

There cannot be hesitation from Andrew Jones. Or, disappearing acts like going from 18 points against Kansas last Saturday to only 3 against Tech last Wednesday. Texas needs Andrew Jones to be epic in this tournament.
