(3) Texas Bigs Need To Dominate

Early in the season, Jarrett Allen seemed hesitant and tentative when he needed to take over games. And, Shaq Cleare seemed to be in a hurry, either rushing shots or passes.

Mid-way through the season, Allen started to find himself on the court and Shaq developed a sweet hook shot. But, the freshman and senior big men would often disappear during key stretches of games.

Part of that was the responsibility of the guards not feeding the post. But, Allen and Shaq needed to demand the ball and take over games. If Allen returns next season, this should be the biggest area of improvement for him – being assertive and taking command of the offense.

If Allen does not return, then it’s up to Dylan Osetkowski, the incoming freshmen, and current freshman James Banks. Banks was purely a defender this season, so if he can develop any type of offensive attack, he will become a big part of the Longhorns next year.
