(2) Dusty Rhodes

The late Dusty Rhodes sadly died two years ago at the age of 69. And, Dusty was a Longhorn from birth.

“The son of a plumber from Austin, Texas,” Dusty Rhodes made Texas Longhorns Football a part of his wrestling persona.

In the 1960 and ’70s, Dusty and tag partner Dick Murdoch formed the “Texas Outlaws” tag team, wreaking havoc across the country. Included was a memorable feud with Oklahoma legends Jack and Jerry Brisco. Naturally, the tag teams wove the Texas vs. Oklahoma rivalry into the story of their feud, which included Murdoch wearing a Longhorns jacket to the ring.

After retiring from the ring, Dusty Rhodes often walked around WWE offices wearing a Longhorns cap and talking Texas Football. One of his wrestling sons, “Goldust” Dustin Rhodes, also tweets about the Longhorns during football season.

Dusty was a Longhorn for life.
