NCAA Tournament: Texas vs. Long Beach State Live Stream Monday

The Road to Omaha and the College World Series continues Monday night for Texas Baseball in the NCAA Tournament.

Texas Baseball was a few plays and a few calls away from advancing to the Super Regionals in Sunday’s elimination game against Long Beach State. But, the Horns can’t think about the missed opportunity on Sunday.

Now, it’s all about a Regional Final between the Longhorns and Dirtbags. Texas beat Long Beach in extra innings in their first meeting on Saturday, the host team took the second meeting on Sunday, and now it comes down to the rubber match late on Monday night.

The NCAA Tournament committee sent Texas to the West Coast, which has meant a lot of late night games in the Regionals. And, this is no exception, as the game is scheduled to start at 10:00 p.m. local time in Texas.

That’s even later than a typical West Coast game for the Houston Astros or Texas Rangers, who start night road games against their AL West rivals at 9:00 p.m. Texas time or 7:00 p.m. locally.

So, this game will end after midnight Texas time. The Horns hope Monday night and Tuesday morning sends them to the Super Regionals.

Texas vs. Long Beach State Preview

Texas Baseball was one of the last teams snubbed as a 1 seed and Regional host. Meanwhile, Long Beach State just snuck in as a host, making this a pretty even matchup.

That has been the case through the first two games. Texas won 5-3 in extra innings in Game 1 and Long Beach won 4-3 in Game 2.

Now the question is who will start for each team. For the Longhorns, will it be sophomore leftie Nick Kennedy, who was named an award semifinalist on Monday?

Kennedy went 8-1 with a 2.82 ERA during the season. Kennedy seems like the best option, especially after Blair Henley pitched in relief on Sunday night.

There’s a lot on the line Monday when Texas Baseball tries to beat the Dirtbags on their home field in Long Beach. If so, it’s off to the Super Regionals to face Cal State Fullerton.
