One of the most thoroughly impressive commitments for the Horns came from reaching all the way out to the territory usually reserved for the ACC and SEC in the “Peach State”. That area is usually held by the likes of the Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, etc.

Four-star Loganville, GA, cornerback Kenyatta Watson II is a top 200 prospect in the nation and a top 20 cornerback. He was a huge commit for the Horns as he was swiped away from the likes of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Watch out for Watson II this fall with a very talented high school football team surrounding him in Loganville.

The awesome part about watching Watson II early in the high school football season is that his squad will be featured on ESPNU on Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. CT. Watson II and Grayson High School will take on Tucker to start out the season. If Watson II can show that he can shut down some of the more talented skill position weapons out of Georgia, he’ll get off on the right foot.

Much like some of the other commits listed here, Watson II is one of two at his position that has pledged to Texas already. Three-star Alvin, TX native Marques Caldwell has good height and instincts for the position. Yet, Caldwell doesn’t have the same hype surrounding him in terms of agility, speed, and work ethic compared to Watson II.
