There are so many elite running back prospects that the Texas football program already offered for the 2020 recruiting cycle. That includes a top five ranked 2020 high school prospect in the nation with five-star Houston, TX, running back Zachary Evans and the top 20 ranked 2020 prospect and five-star California native running back Kendall Milton.

Texas already hosted elite running backs like Evans and Milton this calendar year on the Forty Acres. Something that the 2019 recruiting cycle showed us, though, is that Texas needs to have numerous running back targets in mind for the 2020 class. This is where some of the prospects that were on campus this past weekend come into play.

After showing out in the Houston Opening Regional this past weekend, Evans should see his stock on the recruiting trail jump up even higher. But, Evans or Milton could be a fantastic pairing for the Horns alongside the likes of three-star John Tyler running back Kitan Crawford. Outside of the nation’s top 800 2020 high school prospects, Crawford is a prospect the Horns are digging deep for.

Crawford was one of the numerous 2020 prospects that Herman and the Horns hosted on campus for spring camp this weekend. And, despite how far down the national prospect rankings Crawford is for the 2020 recruiting cycle, he is quickly gaining some big named schools on his offer sheet. For Texas to lock down on his underrated commitment, Crawford needs to hold his interest there over other schools like the Arkansas Razorbacks and recently offered Illinois Fighting Illini.
