Texas Football: 3 pivotal spring game visiting recruits
The top target for the 2021 Texas football recruiting class at this point of the 2019 off-season has to be the top three ranked 2021 high school prospect in the nation, offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer. The five-star classification for Brockermeyer was just released by 247Sports earlier this week.
That 247Sports classification gave Brockermeyer the No. 3 ranking in the nation among prospects for his recruiting cycle, and the slotting as the top offensive lineman in the nation overall. Brockermeyer also has a brother, James Brockermeyer, that is a key target and they could come as a package deal.
Landing the Brockermeyer brothers to add to the offensive line could be massive. Texas already has one brother on the Forty Acres, with former walk-on linebacker Luke Brockermeyer. Luke actually got some key reps with the second and third-team defensive groups in spring drills and the two scrimmages.
All of this momentum that the Horns carry on the recruiting trail with Tommy Brockermeyer of late could be huge in landing his commitment and signed National Letter of Intent when it’s all said and done. He’s already showed out at the Dallas Opening Regional and Dallas Adizero Combine. The mutual interest growing between the Brockermeyers and the Texas coaching staff could build stronger during the spring game.
