What could be coming

The ideal add to the 2019 Texas basketball recruiting class would be a prospect like four-star small forward Tristan Enaruna. Enaruna could help the outside shooting and perimeter and mid-range defense for the Longhorns while adding versatile depth to the rotation in general.

Un-ranked O’Connor High School shooting guard Brendan Wenzel just gave his commitment to the Utah Utes on April 18, but he could still be in play if Texas can manage to flip him over to the Forty Acres. Wenzel is the most recent visitor for Texas on the hoops recruiting trail. He visited campus on April 11.

One other key Longhorns recruiting target to watch at the moment is three-star in-state small forward Jared Garcia. Ranked among the nation’s top 310 2019 high school prospects, Garcia could be a big late addition to this class. Stephen F. Austin and the Texas A&M Aggies are also after Garcia right now.

With Enaruna gaining more attention on the recruiting trail with National Signing Day just around the corner and Wenzel giving his commitment to Utah, the chances that Texas grabs another pledge looks thin. But, there could still be some hope if Smart hits the recruiting trail hard here in the next few weeks ahead of National Signing Day to round out this 2019 cycle.
