With a multitude of big announcements coming lately for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class, where does Kitan Crawford fit into the picture?
The potential rising star for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class that is four-star running back Kitan Crawford has a big announcement on his Twitter timeline set for June 6. The three teams that made it through this set of cuts for Crawford included Texas football, the Oklahoma Sooners, and Tennessee Volunteers.
Oklahoma and Texas football both make a lot of sense to make it into the finalist group for Crawford, but Tennessee is more interesting. The only SEC offer that Crawford holds outside of Tennessee came from head coach Chad Morris and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The Big 12 schools he eliminated included the Texas Tech Red Raiders, TCU Horned Frogs, and Baylor Bears. Big 12 eliminations for those aforementioned schools, and the Texas A&M Aggies and Oklahoma State Cowboys, were surprising since Tennessee made it through. But the goal for head Texas football coach Tom Herman at this point has to be locking down on Crawford’s commitment decision in his favor.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions look good for the Texas Longhorns football program right now. Those Crystal Ball Predictions favor the Longhorns to land Crawford over Oklahoma and Tennessee. Texas should be making Crawford a priority at the moment too.
Moreover, Crawford saw a deserving huge jump in his recruiting ranking lately. He went from being ranked well outside the top 600 2020 high school prospects in the nation to inside the top 300. He also ranks as the No. 16 athlete in the nation.
If Oklahoma and Tennessee were to ever jump deeper into the ring to court Crawford, now would be the time. Crawford just received a scholarship offer from Oklahoma on May 7 and just had an official visit to Norman on June 1. There is a lot happening between him and the Sooners lately.
This would be a good time for the Longhorns to lock in a visit, official or unofficial, for Crawford to make his way to the Forty Acres. He just received his scholarship offer from Texas back in February, but there seems to be a good level of traction here.
Crawford is one of the most elusive prospects offered for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class. He could play at a number of different skill positions for Texas, and that should be a very appealing point for Herman to look into.
