Texas Football: 3 2020 signees who will make an instant impact
By a good margin, the highest rated signee in the 2020 Texas football recruiting class was five-star Salpointe Catholic running back and Tucson, AZ, native Bijan Robinson. The No. 1 ranked running back in the nation and the No. 15 overall 2020 high school prospect stands at 6-foot and 200 pounds.
Robinson wound up being the top running back prospect in this recruiting cycle after the struggle that was the recruiting timeline for fellow five-star rusher and North Shore product Zachary Evans. The gem find at running back for this recruiting cycle was Robinson, and it was impressive the fashion in which the Longhorns were able to land him.
More than 2,200 rushing yards and 41 total touchdowns marked one of the most special senior seasons of any high school football player in the entire country last year. Robinson showed that he can continue to make an impact in the ground game, passing game, and as a blocker in the backfield.
The Longhorns will have a good running back room this year thanks to the addition of Robinson alongside rising junior Keaontay Ingram, sophomore Roschon Johnson (if he stays at the position), and redshirt freshman Derrian Brown. There could be a very bright future ahead at the position if Roschon sticks around here.
