The son of the former Detroit Lions starting quarterback Jon Kitna should start drawing more hype once the 7-on-7 football season starts moving along. His son is a product of Reedy High School around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In fact, two of the three potential Longhorns quarterback targets included on this list are natives of DFW.

Three-star Frisco, TX, pro-style quarterback Jalen Kitna is about as good as they come at his star ranking for this cycle. Jalen ranks as the nation’s No. 442 2021 high school prospect and the No. 17 pro-style quarterback. Although, there is a big discrepancy between the 247Sports Composite ranking of Kitna and his their sole ranking of him.

Just by themselves, 247Sports doesn’t even rank Kitna among the top 1,000 2021 high school prospects in the nation. But the composite ranking does, so the other major recruiting outlets that have evaluated him thus far do help to even out his standing as nearly a four-star pro-style quarterback prospect.

Kitna actually decommitted from the Boston College Eagles back on Jan. 6. Re-opening his recruitment brought a lot more attention his way and he’s received four scholarship offers this month alone. A school that is not on his offer sheet yet is Texas. At least giving Kitan a scout look or sending him an offer could be a good move for Texas if they like what this 6-foot-3.5 strong-armed quarterback brings to the table.

The more significant of the offers Kitna received thus far came from the Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers, and Arizona Wildcats.
