Maybe the most talented quarterback on this list that is, or could be a target, of the 2021 Texas football recruiting class is four-star pro-style signal caller Garrett Nussmeier. This 6-foot-1.5 quarterback should be the main focus if Yurcich and Herman are looking to add a second commitment at the position in their 2021 class.

Nussmeier is also one of the more recent offers sent out by the Longhorns for this recruiting cycle. He received his offer from Texas on Jan. 24. Since then he did receive an offer from Oklahoma State, North Texas, and Texas State. He also had a coach visit with assistant Mike Bobo from the South Carolina Gamecocks back on Jan. 28.

He appears to have already narrowed down his decision between three finalist schools. Those three encompass the Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and North Carolina Tar Heels. Other significant schools that are on his offer sheet include the Boise State Broncos, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Mizzou Tigers, Michigan State Spartans, and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Nussmeier is scheduled to announce his commitment decision on April 18. So the recruiting timeline will shorten for Texas if they really want to win him over throughout the course of spring ball.

Ranking as the nation’s No. 133 2021 high school prospect and the No. 7 pro-style quarterback, this Flower Mound Marcus product is going to be one of the more highly touted prospects Texas has left to pursue at the position.
