Maybe the most realistic wide receiver target that the Longhorns could land in the 2021 recruiting class is three-star 5-foot-11 and 175 pound Monarch product Jaden “Showtime” Alexis. But Alexis would add something to the Texas passing game that would be different than the usual highly touted three or four-star wide receiver product.

Alexis is a versatile and speedy wide receiver threat that could compare closer to the likes of rising sophomore Jake Smith or former wide receiver/cornerback/special teams threat D’shawn Jamison. He’s got blazing speed, reportedly runs around a 4.4 second 40-yard dash time and 10.75 100-meter time.

Ranking as the nation’s No. 370 2021 high school prospect, No. 62 wide receiver, and No. 60 prospect out of Florida (247Sports Composite), Alexis is a bit underrated. And the sole 247Sports recruiting ranking slots him as the No. 56 wide receiver and No. 52 prospect out of Florida. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions is giving the early edge to the Longhorns to land the commitment of Alexis over the rest of the competition.

Alexis holds a load of schools on his offer sheet. He has offers from more than 35 schools including the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Penn State Nittany Lions, Wisconsin Badgers, and Texas A&M. This would be a big get for the Longhorns, if they can hold the interests of Alexis.
