2) Can’t miss 2021 Texas basketball recruiting targets: Jahmai Mashack, SF

A prospect that has a rising star right now and is getting prioritized by a number of top tier college hoops programs around the country is the talented four-star Etiwanda small forward Jahmai Mashack. This 6-foot-5 and 190 pound product coming out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, is gaining a lot of national attention on the recruiting trail this offseason.

Mashack is announcing his commitment in the very near future, on Sep. 8. At least that is the planned commitment date for Mashack. It seems that his commitment has narrowed down to a list smaller than 10 schools. Texas appears to be on that list too. That group of finalists could also include the Cal Golden Bears, Oklahoma Sooners, Tennessee Volunteers, Colorado Buffaloes, and Arkansas Razorbacks, among others.

Texas is more of more than a dozen schools in general to sent Mashack a scholarship offer. Some other schools that are important to mention from his offer sheet (that aren’t already brought up here) are the Liberty Flames, Utah Utes, Cal Poly, Louisville, and Arizona. He’s got a pretty impressive offer sheet as it stands ahead of his commitment date.

Mashack ranks as the nation’s No. 92 2021 high school prospect, No. 16 small forward, and No. 6 prospect out of California (247Sports Composite). The Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 43 high school prospect, No. 9 small forward, and No. 3 prospect out of California.

The unfortunate part for the Longhorns is that the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions have former Texas head coach Rick Barnes and the Vols trending to land the commitment of Mashack. The Rivals FutureCast also has all of their analysts and publishers picking Mashack to commit to Tennessee over the rest of the field.
