1) Herman’s Texas football/Houston decommits that succeeded elsewhere: Rondale Moore

The last player, and former Herman commit, on this list is also by far the most notable. While Johnston and Bernard either are currently, or will be (or both), very valuable parts of their respective Big 12 teams, the Purdue Boilermakers star junior wide receiver Rondale Moore has his name known all around the country.

As an AP All-American as just a true freshman, Moore was one of the most productive wide receivers not just in the Big Ten, but in the entire country over the course of his two years in college to date. But he wasn’t all that highly touted coming out of Trinity High School in Louisville, KY, compared to his level of production and efficiency in college.

Moore ranked as the nation’s No. 229 2018 high school prospect, No. 41 wide receiver, and the top overall prospect out of Kentucky (247Sports Composite). He wound up immediately surpassing expectations and that recruiting ranking by registering nearly 1,500 total yards from scrimmage, 1,258 receiving yards, and 14 total touchdowns.

Only getting to play in four games during his sophomore season in 2019, Moore had a promising campaign cut short due to injury. He still averaged around 110 receiving yards per game and one touchdown catch in the limited exposure he did get before getting injured last season.

It would be really nice if the Longhorns were able to keep the commitment of Moore back in their highly touted 2018 recruiting class.
