2) Texas basketball bold predictions vs. Nova

Courtney Ramey and Matt Coleman shoot a combined 70 percent from downtown

Two of the most special players to start out the season for the Longhorns are their starting guards in the backcourt rotation. Coleman and the offensively gifted junior guard Courtney Ramey are off to solid starts in their own respects for Texas this season. The former of those two won the game over the Tar Heels on Dec. 2, and the latter is on a hot scoring streak once again.

In the four games played for Ramey so far this season (all of which he started in), he’s scored in double figures in each. He’s also averaged 15.0 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.3 blocks. Ramey shot 38.0 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, Coleman has also started in all four of the games he’s played in so far this season. He’s averaged 16.3 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks. Coleman shot 52.2 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Coleman and Ramey haven’t taken too many three pointers combined in any individual game this season. But against a team that is so talented on both ends of the floor, spacing the floor out more wouldn’t be a bad thing by any means. If these two standout guards for Texas can get going from downtown early, it would go a long way to helping this team come out of this game unscathed.
