3) Overreactions from Texas football’s win over K-State

Bijan Robinson will be the best running back in the Big 12 in 2021

There’s no doubt in my mind that it’s not an overreaction to say that the future of the former highly coveted five-star recruit and true freshman running back Bijan Robinson is extremely bright. But it is hard to tell if Robinson will wind up being the best running back in the Big 12 by the time his sophomore campaign comes around.

In this game alone, Robinson registered 51 receiving yards on three catches, with no receiving touchdowns. And he amassed a whopping 172 rushing yards on just nine carries (more than 19 yards per carry), and three rushing touchdowns. Robinson got his first touchdown of his college career in the first half, and then kept piling it on.

On the season so far, Robinson registered 520 rushing yards (6.8 yards per carry), three rushing touchdowns, along with 13 receptions for 159 receiving yards(12.2 yards per catch), and no touchdown catches.

Another solid performance came for the Longhorns on the ground with the sophomore running back Roschon Johnson breaking through for the first time in a while this fall. Johnson registered 14 attempts for 139 rushing yards (9.9 yards per carry), with three rushing touchdowns.

On the season so far, Johnson registered 70 attempts for 386 rushing yards (5.5 yards per carry), five rushing touchdowns, along with seven catches for 50 receiving yards(7.1 yards per catch), and one receiving touchdown.
