While it does seem like the Longhorns elite five-star Denton-Ryan athlete commit/signee Ja’Tavion Sanders likely has a set position, that’s definitely not 100 percent decided yet. Sanders’ best position, or at least the one that transitioned the best, looks to be at weak-side defensive end. But we’ll wait and see where he’s placed come next offseason.
Sanders was the headlining signee on a day that was mostly quiet for the Longhorns on the first day of the Early Signing Period. He committed and signed with Texas over offers from more than 20 other schools. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet included Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
Moreover, he ranks as the nation’s No. 21 2021 high school prospect, top overall athlete, and the No. 3 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).
Another athlete commmit/signee for the Longhorns 2021 class that could have a position in mind for the coaching staff, but doesn’t look like it is for sure decided yet, is three-star Everman athlete Juan Davis. The immediate position that comes to mind for Davis is at tight end, which would slot him alongside Helm.
Davis picked Texas over offers from just three other schools. Those three other schools on his offer sheet were the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, Texas A&M, and Baylor. Davis was another one of those early commits for the Longhorns 2021 class.
Moreover, Davis ranks as the nation’s No. 538 2021 high school prospect, No. 35 athlete, and No. 77 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite).
