1) Instant impact 2021 Texas football early signees

By far the highest rated commit/signee in the Longhorns 2021 class, the five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Sanders, was a huge keep for Herman in this group. After Texas lost a commitment from the elite four-star Denton-Ryan athlete (and Sanders’ teammate) Billy Bowman Jr. to the rival Sooners, there were some question marks emerging to his pledge status earlier in the fall.

Sanders is likely to play as a weak-side defensive end for the Longhorns, but he has shined on both sides of the ball for Denton-Ryan in his high school football career. He could technically be a threat on both sides of the ball for the Longhorns. But defensive end should be his natural fit.

Moreover, Sanders ultimately chose to commit to Texas over offers from more than 20 other schools. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet included Alabama, Florida, Florida State Seminoles, LSU, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and Washington Huskies.

Sanders ranks as the nation’s No. 21 2021 high school prospect, top overall athlete, and No. 3 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). This 6-foot-4 and 220 pound freak athlete is going to make an immediate impact for the Longhorns no matter which side of the ball he plays on. He brings about the utmost versatility to the table as possible for Texas.
