3) Defensive targets for 2022 Texas football class

A prospect for the Longhorns 2022 class that is the talk of the town lately is the highly touted four-star West Brook 5-foot-11 and 185 pound safety Bryce Anderson. The former LSU Tigers commit re-opened his recruitment just a few weeks back, thus garnering a lot more attention from the other schools pursuing him at this point in time.

There’s still nearly a clean split in the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions as to where Anderson’s commitment will ultimately land. The other schools that still look to be in the mix at the moment, outside of Texas, are LSU and the rival Texas A&M Aggies. Most of the expert Crystal Ball Predictions (whether outdated or up to date) are still falling to Texas A&M and/or LSU, though.

Texas is one of a whopping 40 schools on Anderson’s lengthy offer sheet. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal, Tennessee Volunteers, and the USC Trojans.

Moreover, Anderson ranks as the nation’s No. 66 2022 high school prospect, No. 4 safety, and the No. 12 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 84 high school prospect, No. 6 safety, and No. 15 prospect out of Texas.

Landing Anderson could do wonders for the Longhorns 2022 class in the defensive backfield, alongside the talented corner Guilbeau.
