Texas Football: Predicting next 2023 commit after Rueben Owens
1) Predicting next 2023 Texas football commit
It feels really weird to say that one of the biggest competitors on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns to land a top tier out-of-state quarterback prospect is former Texas head coach Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels. But that’s what happens when Texas gets in on an elite quarterback prospect from the east coast early on.
One of the true prized targets among signal callers for the 2023 cycle for the Longhorns is the elite five-star Williams Amos Hough 6-foot-3 and 195 pound pro-style quarterback Tad Hudson. Texas sent their scholarship offer to Hudson back on April 6, 2020. Thus Hudson was one of the big time initial prospects that Texas offered for this cycle.
There are now more than a dozen schools that have offered Hudson as of the night of March 2. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Michigan State Spartans, Kentucky Wildcats, Auburn, Arkansas, North Carolina, NC State Wolfpack, South Carolina, Tennessee Volunteers, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Moreover, Hudson ranks as the nation’s No. 27 2023 high school prospect, No. 4 pro-style quarterback, and top overall prospect out of North Carolina (Top247). Hudson has a huge arm, and the potential of playing with the building talent in the 2022 and 2023 classes has to be really appealing to a potent prospect like him.
