3) Important 2022 Texas football visitors

Any prospect that takes it upon themselves to either hold an important virtual visit or visit the Forty Acres in person themselves should be ones that are noticed by the Texas coaching staff. And that’s one big reason why the Longhorns should be increasing their pioritization of the recruitment of the unheralded three-star Texas High weak-side defensive end Derrick Brown.

Texas pretty recently sent out their scholarship offer to the Texarkana, TX, product Brown. He received his offer from the Longhorns back on Feb. 25. But it still appears to be an uphill battle for the Longhorns to win over the interests of Brown from the rest of the competition.

Brown did recently announce on his Twitter timeline back on March 3 that his recruitment is still “100% open”.

Nonetheless, Texas still should try and insert themselves at the forefront of Brown’s pursuit. Texas is one of nearly two dozen schools to send a scholarship offer to Brown. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, Houston Cougars, Kansas State Wildcats, Kentucky Wildcats, Minnesota Golden Gophers, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Penn State Nittany Lions, SMU Mustangs, TCU Horned Frogs, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

Oklahoma and Texas could start running away with the recruitment of Brown. But they need to continue to try and stave off the multiple schools trying to win over his commitment at this point in time.

Moreover, Brown ranks as the nation’s No. 453 2022 high school prospect, No. 26 weak-side defensive end, and No. 68 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 20 weak-side defensive end and No. 64 prospect out of Texas.
