Underrated 2022 in-state targets to prioritize No. 1: Emeka Megwa

Somehow the former elite blue chip Timber Creek running back/athlete prospect Emeka Megwa has seen his stock on the recruiting trail decline pretty steep over the last calendar year. This sizable and gifted 6-foot-2 and 225 pound product hailing out of Keller, TX, in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is still a very talented prospect that needs to be paid the proper amount of attention by the Texas coaching staff.

Megwa received his Texas scholarship offer a good while back, on on May 7, 2019. He was one of the initial prospects for the 2022 recruiting cycle that received a Texas offer, which shows the level of commitment this program could have to him. But since his Texas offer came through, he’s received roughly offers from two dozen other schools.

There are now more than three dozen schools on Megwa’s incredibly lengthy offer sheet. And some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet includes the Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Notre Dame, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Texas A&M Aggies, USC Trojans, and Washington Huskies.

Moreover, Megwa ranks as the nation’s No. 292 2022 high school prospect, No. 18 athlete, and No. 41 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 24 athlete and No. 41 prospect out of Texas.

At this point Megwa has somehow earned the label as an underrated prospect. He could play at either wide receiver or running back, so he brings a good amount of versatility to the table.
