Another rather experienced guard that has his name in the transfer portal that could help fill the void left by the departure of Coleman this offseason could be the former Oklahoma Sooners standout sophomore point guard and former four-star recruit De’Vion Harmon. This 6-foot-2 and 200 pound two-way guard would be a really solid addition for this new-look Texas roster.

Although he doesn’t bring near the same experience level to the table for the Longhorns as the former Fighting Illini and Cyclones guard Coleman-Lands would this year, Harmon would be more of a long-term solution for the backcourt rotation. Harmon is also a guard that both Beard and the Longhorns are very familiar with.

Harmon was solid both in his runs against the Longhorns and Red Raiders over the course of the prior two seasons as he played with former head coach Lon Kruger and the Sooners. That is something that should now appeal to all parties involved since he could make an impact right away if he does in fact land on the Forty Acres.

As his role grew with the Sooners last season, Harmon steadily improved his game. The Denton-Guyer product and Texas native was stout for the Sooners in 25 games played in the season that was. During the 2020-21 campaign, Harmon averaged 12.9 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and no blocks. And he shot 47.7 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 73.2 percent from the free-throw line.
