Texas Football: 4 fastest Longhorns players in 2021
D’Shawn Jamison, CB
A defensive back for the Longhorns that the fans are well-acquianted with in terms of the raw speed that he brings to the table is the former electric four-star recruit and senior cornerback D’Shawn Jamison. Of all of the Longhorns players on this list, the fans on the Forty Acres might be the most familiar with watching the speed that Jamison brings to the table.
As one of the more underrated all-around defensive backs/special teams threats in the Big 12 in the past two seasons, Jamison is a candidate to not only get all-conference honors again in 2021, but challenge for an All-America nod. Given the way that Jamison sparked the Longhorns secondary and return units in the last two years, that’s not out of the question.
Jamison even returned an interception for a touchdowns in the Longhorns spring game last month. He’s also registered one interception returned for a toucdhown in his career to date. Along with that, he has two kicks returned for touchdowns in his career, and one punt that he took to the house.
During his time at Lamar High School in the Houston-area, Jamison recorded near 11-second 100 meter dash times, and a 22 second 200 meter dash. He’s proved at multiple points of his football and track careers that he has some insane speed. Watch out for Jamison to use that part of his game again to be weapon for Texas on multiple sides of the ball in 2021.
