What could be a very strong 2022 class for the Longhorns at the safety position all started with the commitment of the highly-touted four-star Aledo product Bryan Allen Jr. Texas also has a strong foundation established in the defensive backfield in their 2022 class by holding a commitment from four-star Memorial cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau.

Another commitment that adds to the secondary in the 2022 Longhorns class is the 6-foot and 190 pound West Brook safety Bryce Anderson. Texas was trending to land the commitment of the in-state product Anderson for a good while now. And it sounds like some of the current Longhorns commits in the 2022 class are doing their best to recruit Anderson to the Forty Acres.

All but one of the expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions in for Anderson as of the afternoon of May 25 have his commitment going to Texas over LSU and the rest of the field. And more than half of the analysts and publishers picking in the Rivals FutureCast have Anderson landing with Texas when it’s all said and done.

Anderson is set to announce his commitment on July 4. Before then, he has official visits scheduled with Texas (June 25), USC (June 11), Alabama (June 18), and Texas A&M (June 4).

The decision of Anderson is likely to come down to those four schools.

Moreover, Anderson ranks as the nation’s No. 45 2022 high school prospect, No. 3 safety, and No. 11 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 59 high school prospect, No. 5 safety, and No. 12 prospect out of Texas.
